Alpha Rho !

Thanks Heather for putting this together !

My Weight loss journey

Rules for my successful weight loss journey -
Please DO NOT !
Do not tell me I shouldn't eat  that , I'm aware of what I am doing
Do not try to teach me about weight loss exercise and nutrition - I go to weight watchers for that .
Do not ask me " how many points is that ? unless you are a fellow weight watchers person .
Remember I QUIT SMOKING !

Please DO !!!
Ask me if it's working for me ! It is !
Please do give me tips on what is low in fat
Please do respect my efforts .
This is a life style change for me as was quitting smoking . At times I am easily agitated as I am trying to adjust and eliminate things from my daily routine that is not good for me. It is a life long process and as time goes by it will become easier . I am not a weight loss fanatic and I will not push my beliefs or life style change on to you . I just simply want to be healthier .

  1. Weight loss --- down 2.5 lbs   !!!  June 11 - 2011 weigh in  ( that's 1 week ) I started on May 14th and did not get accurate weight and had it reset,  so I think I may have lost 5 lbs  in all .

These are my notes from today's WW meeting.
  1. Get rid of clothes as you go down in sizes. Keep a brown bag to store them in as you go down- Get rid of them !!!
  1. . You deserve to feel good in your clothes don't wear baggy clothes ,wear your size!!!
Struggling?
still gaining ,  Eating all your  points ?
Staying within your daily points ?
Not seeing weight loss ?  Your Leader can track your points to see where the problem is( bring in copy of points tracker )
Keep tracking !
There is a Simple  fill in technique book, can purchase at the meeting.
Challenges-  problem with portion control - balancing can be an issue.
Guilt and frustration for things you like -  Okay to have  -  use portion control
Works - track everything use the 3 month journal -  it's OK to Back track
Weigh in's - not a failure it's feed back!!
Pre tracking - good idea Not knowing points slows people down with weight loss .
Tracking - track everything - stay with  good Heath guidelines - water vitamin - oil - fruit veggies - Tracking  times Balance out points .
Weighing and measuring makes a big difference.
Pasta !! Once a week - OK
No carbs every meal  , Make sure you write down protein - filling foods  Fruits, veggies
Keep a feelings --journal , track it. Moods - determine your points - track it - Exercise tracking - eat enough ! don't have to eat all exercise points.
Know how much your are earning for exercise -
eat only your earned points value .
Can you gain weight and track - yep! Track track track !!!!!! It works !! Write points on packages as you buy and store them in your cabinets
Natures own - White wheat bread 1 point value!
Home needs to be a low fat zone!
Slowly convert family to healthy eating .
20 minutes of exercise at least daily .
Pre-track your meals - more Likely to stick with your points.
Precook - veggies for convenience .
water water water !!!!

Thanks Heather !!

Onion Bloom
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
1 large onion
1/4 ounce corn flakes, crushed
Pinch red pepper
Pinch seasoned salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 2-cup round baking dish with
cooking spray. Trim root end of onion so it stands upright. Slice off 1/2"
from top and remove peel. With sharp knife, cut triangle slices to center of onion,
slicing from top down and stopping 1/2" from bottom. Work your way around
to make several 'petals'. Spray with cooking spray and place in microwavable
safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes or until onion is slightly
tender and petals have begun to separate. In small bowl combine corn flake
crumbs, seasoned salt, and pepper; set aside. In medium bowl whip egg white
until foamy. Dip onion in egg white, coating petals thoroughly. Place in prepared
baking dish and sprinkle evenly with corn flake mixture. Bake until lightly
browned and crisp (about 10-12 minutes).
